Imagine our good fortune on Thursday when Pacifier calls to tell us that they are all out of the Super Grover shirt that K8 ordered online. Bummer, until K8 asks offhand if they happen to have the Phil & Teds Sport stroller, in orange of course, that we've been drooling over. Not only do they but it's 15% off! They even offered to assemble it before we got there.
When we go to pick it up that evening we get a full demo on assembly and it's variety of functions. With everything else in the store 25% off right now, it's a surprise we made it out with only a hat, a book, and the stroller.
If you're looking for a way to spend some of that x-mas money on some super cool stuff for the kids definitely stop by Pacifier. Just be ready to be patient with the parking.

We love Pacifier.... Now where did I put those money tree seeds?

Hey Julia, give me a call. We'll set up a playdate!
Once again, a celebrity validates that I am... ahh, I mean my kids are way cool!
First, I have to make two small confessions:
1. K8 has a subscription to Entertainment Weekly. Her "guilty pleasure".
2. I, on occasion, find myself perusing its pages of oh so valuable information from inside the entertainment and celebrity world. I feel so dirty.
Anywho, while browsing through the latest edition of said filth, I dicovered that Julia Roberts and her offspring are big fans of Mo Willems. US TOO! Wow. We could totally hang out, maybe trade some recipes, complain about the cost of organic milk, and gossip about other moms. "Oh that Britney."
Seriously though, if you don't own any Mo Willems books, go to the Red Balloon and get them all right now. Then you too can be cool like me and the prostitute in Pretty Woman.

Christmas through Q's eyes
Q got a great little digital camera for Christmas that he loves. Here's some of the pictures he took on Christmas Eve and Today.

So far so good.
It's been a week since Q met his new little brother. Though he does seem to be acting out a little, so far he's doing quite well with this major change. He tries really hard to help out and loves to hold little Ozzi.
Thanks to all the friends and family for all the gifts, food, treats, and company.

I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees....
Q's favorite Dr. Seuss story animated. I love the internet!
Babies CAN Sleep At Night!
Last night ,the third night at home, Ozzi slept great. He only woke up twice to eat and even then he just quietly fussed instead of screaming like the last two nights. This is great because it allows me to get up in the morning with Q, have breakfast, and then spend some quality time with the internet while Q watches Curious George on PBS and K8 takes a little morning snooze with Ozzi.
A few things I've found worth sharing:
1. They Might Be Giants just started a video podcast for kids. So far its pretty cool. You can find it in iTunes Store. I'm guessing they will use some of the stuff they already have on YouTube like this,
2. the music video that I constantly saw on MTV Italia while we were in Italy a year before Q was born,
3. and if you really want to feel stupid watch this guy kick some serious math ass.

Q meets Ozzi. Ozzi meets Q.
There were a few tears when Q came home from Grandpa and Grandma's after we got home from the hospital today. Surprisingly none were a result of a Q finger jab into an Ozzi eye. K8 and I were both amazed how much we ended up missing Q.
Ozzi is doing great. Eating a lot, pooping a lot, sleeping a... ahh... a lot, just in the short spurts. That we will again have to get used to.
Reportedly, Q was a perfectly behaved little boy while with Grandpa and Grandma and enjoyed a great deal of adventures and socializing in the St. Cloud area.
The family unit is now all at home enjoying each others' company.
"Gentle Q! Gentle!"

OZFEST 12.12.07
Well so much for our scheduled c-section on Friday... not to mention the Juno Premier at the Walker tonight.
K8's water broke at 8pm yesterday and by 10:30 Ozzi was born. 8 lbs. 1.5 oz., 21 in., and a full head of dark hair! Thus far he is a pretty content baby and eating great.

Perfectly Delightful
I found the very first thing I'm going to play for Ozzi when he's born. "it's a big world" by Renee and Jeremy. Enjoy.
If you're not at least a bit touched by this song/video you probably should check your pulse... you heartless bastard.
edit: after perusing the Renee and Jeremy website I realized that I met Jeremy once a long time ago when he was in town with his band Brad. I was working at a music store at the time and got invited to the concert at First Ave (I think That Dog opened up for them) and a meet and greet at Old Chicago after the show. Later as we were all leaving we happened upon some bouncers "bouncing" some dude out of another bar. Aah, the good times.
SNOWFORT 07
With the 6 or so inches of snow we got over the weekend we were able to get started on this years snow fort. Granted with only 6 in. of fluffy powder, I had to resort to shoveling the sidewalk, driveway, and neighbors sidewalk into a wheelbarrow to get enough of a hill going in the backyard. I was able to incorporate Q's little tyke toddler slide on top of the sandbox into the design creating a snow slide going into the tunnels. I also managed to start the first level of large snow blocks to make up the first stage of the castle.
Now with the snow we got last night I should be able to add a little more. It's a season long project that I will update with pictures from time to time.

Can We Build It?
Q: (handing me the magnadoodle) Draw bob papa.
DK: Draw bob? What's bob?
Q: Draw bob?
DK: Bob who?
Q: Draw bob. NOW! Draw bob now papa!
DK: I can't draw something if I don't know what it is. I'm sorry.
K8: Is he talking about Bob The Builder.
Q: Yeah. Draw BOB papa.
DK: You've seen Bob The Builder maybe twice in your life and certainly not recently. Where is this coming from? Ok. I'll try, but I don't think my artistic skills are going to render a Bob the Builder that will meet your high standards.
Q: YES YOU CAN!
Word Up! It's Word Girl!
For the sake of a post without the mention of The Walker, doh, I will exclaim the greatness that is Word Girl. The new cartoon on PBS is one of the best shows on TV right now, cartoon or not. It's hilarious. You can't go wrong with a brainy superhero with a sidekick monkey named Captain Huggy Face and super-villains like Granny May.
